Frequently Asked Questions?

The fish I bought wasn't what I had thought, I'm not satisfied. Why wasn't it good and what should do I do?

Firstly, when it comes to seafood there is no guarantee that every fish is to your tastes. Every person is different and certain flavours will respond differently. Many factors effect quality including length of time in the freezer as well as packaging.

We work very hard to make sure all our products are of top quality. We make it our top priority to ensure customers are getting a high quality fish, frozen at sea, processed in BC and will be satisfying in terms of sizing portions vs. Price.

If for some reason you are not satisfied or concerned about the quality or taste of a product, please don't hesitate to come talk to us about it. We only offer exchanges at this time but will work with you in finding a replacement that will suit your needs and match the quality we strive for.

Where do we source our product and where does the fish come from?
Our core belief is bringing in quality, Wild seafood from Local sources. On rare occasions we may bring in Scallops, lobster and rock crab meat, we specially source these from Nova Scotia and P.E.I

Most of our product is fishermen direct and caught off the Western Coast of Canada. Places such as Haida Qwaii and North of Vancouver Island. Occasionally we will get product from South, East of Victoria (around St.Juan island).

We are in a Co-Op partnership with FreshOffTheBoat seafoods, based out of White Rock, BC. Our Fisherman Chuck provides many of our quality high end products including Sockeye Salmon, Canned Sockeye Salmon, Sablefish, Rockfish and even Salmon Candy.

We also bring in speciality items on occation. This can vary on season and fishmen.

We source cakes, salmon burgers from Wheelhouse Seafoods and Speciality meats.

How come I can find cheaper fish in a grocery store? Why are your prices higher on some products?
When it comes to seafood demand vs quality are two aspects that greatly effect pricing. The higher the interest in a fish, the higher the price. When the demand is high and the quality superb, you can bet on a pricey product.

Our goal is never to gouge customers with heavy pricing. We offer a huge selection of products that range in prices. There is always something affordable to most families.

We operate as a small business so processing costs and transporting fish into the suburbs, all effect the overall pricing system.

Whats the difference between Fresh Vs. Frozen seafood?

Store Bought Verses Fisherman Direct?
Do we have a store front, where are we located?
We don't have a physical store front at this time as we are a small family-run business. We run day to day opersations from our base in Burnaby. Our Farmers Markets are our sole place of business however we do take orders online, through email and by phone. We also can do deliveries aside from our Farmers Markets. You can find our contact information on our Contacts page.

We currently sell our fish at local Farmers Markets in Burnaby, New Westminster, and White Rock.

We do take special orders and have in the past sent fish to Alberta.
I am concerned about Mercury in seafood. Does your products contain Mercury and should I be concerned?
